Departmental History

The Department of Public Administration, Govt Degree College for Women Baramulla, was established in the year 2017. The Department introduced B.A course at Undergraduate level. The Department has immense potential to excel in all its academic endeavours and inculcate the latest developments in the discipline. The department is committed to provide quality professional development opportunities for students in the public and non-public sectors. At present the department is headed by Mr. Shazad Maqbool Lone (In-charge).
The course is embedded in the principle of knowledge for empowerment through Empirical theoretical understanding of public administration as foundation of nurturing sound, articulate and well informed leaders for the overall development of the country. The undergraduate program in public administration aims to equip students with basic theoretical and practical knowledge related to organisation, politics, and administration and with analytical skills of problem solving in the field of public administration.
The graduates have the opportunity to apply for Masters and Doctorate degrees in the same or related fields. As for employment opportunities, the graduates can work as Inspectors, supervisors, experts or officers in public corporations; or as administrators in private sector or as non-government organisations. The disciplines creates learning experience for students that have practical applications to the real world.
