Departmental History: The department was established in the year 2002 with the introduction of science stream in the college. Ever since its establishment, the department has shown great progress in terms of its infrastructural development and the kind of service provided to the students. A good number of its alumni have pursued their advanced career in botany at Kashmir University as well as in other reputed universities of the country, showing remarkable excellence in the field.


Facilities Available:

The department has a well-equipped laboratory with all modern day facilities for undergraduate students. A good collection of visual aids in the form of bio-visual charts, models and museum specimens besides various audiovisual aids like LCD projector, OHP and slide projector are available in the department. A small museum with a collection of antique artifacts and museum specimens is present the department. The department looks after botanical garden in the college premises where some rare and endangered medicinal plants are cultivated. The landscape development and beautification of the college campus is also in the purview of the department.
